Russian Culture - A Look Through Centuries
We invite you to visit the exhibiton "Russian Culture - Look Through the
Centuries. Russia and Europe. 1900-1917" from the funds of the State Museum and
House of P.I.Chaikovsky in Klin. The exhibition displays unique materials on the
history of Russian musical culture of 1900-1917. Visitors can see documentary
evidences of so called "Silver Age". The exhibition is held in Vrubel's Hall of
the State Tretyakov Gallery within the framework of music festival "Russian
Culture - Look Through the Centuries. Russia and Europe. 1900-1917."

Unknown Konchalovsky
The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Private Collections present
the exhibition "Unknown Konchalovsky" which displays paintings from the artist's
family collection and from private collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine
Arts. The exhibition dates for the 125-year birthday of the artist. This jubilee
exhibition is to show artist's heritage more broadly and lets you make your own
opinion on his creative work. In the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts there was
published a catalogue timed to the opening of the exhibition. The catalogue
contains articles written by famous art historians, detailed chronicle of
Konchalovsky's life and creative work, and also about 100 colour copies of works
selected for the exhibition.

38th Exhibition of Works by Moscow Theatre Artists
The exhibition "Results of the Season" was opened in the Moscow Museum of
Contemporary Art. This annual exhibition is the only one opening for the 38th
time. It shows us the best works made by Russian theatre artists during the last
two years. The visitors of this exhibition have rare chance to attend several
theatrical first nights of 2000-2001 at the same time.

Trophy Photographs of Architecture of Third Reich
"Reichschancellory. Trophy Photographs" is the seventh photo exhibition of the
cycle "A Year of Maria Rogozina" in Schusev Museum of Architecture. The Museum
of Architecture has a unique collection of trophy photos of the architecture of
Third Reich. Among them there's a series of pictures taken in August-October,
1939, in order to fix a newly constructed building of the state office of Adolf
Hitler - so called Reichschancellory. This exhibition easily may be called
sensational because the Museum had never exhibited these pictures before.

After 11 September: Pictures From the Epicenter of the Tragedy
The Embassy of the USA in Moscow and Moscow House of Photograph invite you to
the exhibition of photos taken by Joel Meyerovits "After 11 September: Pictures
From the Epicentre of the Tragedy." The exhibition is organized by the
Department of Educational and Cultural Programs of the State Department of the
USA together with the Museum of New York City. After the terrorist attack in New
York on 11 September, 2001, the Municipal Museum of New York City invited famous
photographer Joel Meyerovits to create some photographic archive of shambles and
reconstruction work at and near the area where the tragedy took place.
Photographic archive "11.09" consists of more than 5000 objects and is to become
a part of the constant collection of the Municipal Museum of New York and is to
be used for investigations, exhibitions and publications.

Jewelry Avant-Guard. Beginnings. Parallels
The exhibition "Jewelry Avant-Guard. Beginnings. Parallels" organized by the
State Hermitage together with the Pfortshaim Jewel Museum (Germany) was opened
in the Blue Bedroom of the Winter Palace. The exposition represents 120 works by
Russian and foreign masters. The works by foreign artists take the period of
1960-1990s. The works by Russian jewelers were made during last several years.
Such a selection doesn't pretend to wide demonstration of jewelry art. This is
the chance to show to people the results achieved in this field of art in the
West. The exposition displays works, which are now the objects of the history of
jewelry art.

Diagnostics of a Photograph
Stroganovsky Palace invites you to visit the exhibition of works by David
Morovits "Eye of a Diagnostician". David Morovits is a famous American doctor
and at the same time a man who has been fond of photograph for a long time. When
he got his own practice Morovits had to deal with apparatus linked up to camera.
His own professional camera was bought in 1966 and his hobby began to compete
with his profession. The exposition represents photo works (1980-1990s) with
various amazing views of America on them.

Works by Young Photographer from Saint Petersburg
New exhibition of works by a young photographer from Saint Petersburg "Skyline"
was opened in the Museum of Sigmund Freud's Visions. Alexei Nikhonov, a
philosopher, designer, photographer, presented the first exhibition of his works
"Technique of a Low Flight Over the Earth" in 2001. It was dated for the
festival "Lacan - 100". New exhibition represents two series of black-and-white
photos opening his peculiar view on a city, and on the visibility limits. The
city breaks a straight skyline, it becomes something that interrupts infinity…

John Cage in Russia
The Art Center "Pushkinskaya - 10" invites you to the Museum of Contemporary
Art, to visit the exhibition "John Cage in Russia". The year of 1988 brought
cardinal changes to the Russian Art. American theorist, composer and artist John
Cage visited Leningrad in 1988. During his stay he managed to give a concert in
Philharmonic Society, to conduct several master classes and carry out together
with Sergey Kurekhin the famous performance "Water Action". The exhibition will
present materials from the Museum of Contemporary Art dedicated to that memorial
visit: there will be photographs, works by John Cage, and other.
