Collector of Russian Antiquities
The Ministry of Culture of RF and State Historical Museum are glad to
present the exhibition "Collector of Russian Antiquities" dated for the
International Museum Day. This is the first exhibition from the cycle "True
Museum's Friend" dedicated to the collector and patron of art Petr Ivanovich
Schukin (1853 - 1912) who granted his huge collection to Historical Museum.
Schukin's collection consists of more than 300 thousand items, it reflects
the history of Russia of the 17th-19th centuries, public and everyday life
of all main social classes - the nobility, the petty bourgeoisie, the
merchants, the boyars and the peasantry.

Massimo Scolari's Thirty Years of Creative Work
State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Italian Institute of Culture and the
Embassy of Italy are proud to invite you to the exhibition of works by
Massimo Scolari "Thirty Years of Creative Work". On display there are
paintings and graphical works. Massimo Scolari is one of the most famous
modern artists in Europe; he has gained the authority by the purity of the
style and intellectuality of his art.

Two Nikolo-Gustunsky Cathedrals in the Museum of Architecture
In the Museum of Architecture there is exhibition "Two Nikolo-Gustunsky
Cathedrals. The Moscow Kremlin and Belevsky Uyezd". Only few people know
about these cathedrals some information. Both of them were dedicated to same
rare icon - Nikolay Gostunsky Icon. One of the cathedrals had been situated
on the territory of the Kremlin but then it was destroyed. The other is
situated in thinly pupulated place in Belevsky Uyezd.

"Coffee House" in Tsaritsyno
State Museum and Reserve "Tsaritsyno" invites you to visit the exhibition
"Coffee House in Europe and Russia in the 18th - beginning of he 19th
century". The exhibition includes materials on coffee ceremony in the
Western Europe and Russia of the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th
centuries and on foundation of the net of cafes in Moscow and Saint
Petersburg. On display there is staff for the ceremony: china, silver
settings, coffee-machines, coffee-grinders, ice-cream moulds, coffee
packing, etc.

Walks Around Moscow of 40-50s
Central House of Artist, the International Confederation of Artist Unions
present the exhibition of works by Nikolay Grishin (1921-1985). Drawings by
Nikolay Grishin give to visitors possibility to take a walk around Moscow of
40-50s: not triumphal capital with slogans, parades and flags, but
intimate - with, dear Arbat yards, culver roofs and come off walls. This
Arbat world that had gone away becomes alive on the water-colour by the
artist.

Historical Heritage of Moscow
The exhibition "Historical Heritage of Moscow" is being held for the first
time during the Days of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Moscow, 2002.
Monuments of the Moscow Kremlin, historical monuments of Veliky Posad of
Kitay Gorod, ensembles of the White Town can be seen by visitors in
etchings, paintings, water-colour art works by the best artists of the past
and by contemporary masters. Particular place of the exhibition is taken by
materials of the General Moscow Development Plan till 2020 which reflect the
suggestions how to keep safe and use municipal historical and cultural
heritage.

Treasure Gallery in the State Hermitage
After a long break there was opened Treasure Gallery in the State Hermitage.
The Gallery had been earlier called Special Pantry N 1. The principal idea
of the exposition is to show the development of jeweller's art during the
whole history of humanity - from the 3d millenium B.C. to the beginning of
the 20th century. The part of the expositions where there are golden and
silver items from Northern Caucasus of the period of the Early Bronze
presents the most ancient jewelry found on the territory of Russia.

Original Work by Lorenzo Lotto in the Hermitage
There was opened an unusual exhibition within the series "World Museums
Masterpieces in the Hermitage". Painting "The Rest of the Holy Family on the
Way to Egypt with Saint Justine" by Lorenzo Lotto (1480-1556) was shown for
the first time. This painting has been in the Hermitage's store-rooms for
more than 200 years. The painting will take its position not only in
constant exposition of Venetian painting of the Renaissance but also will
add one more item to the list of works by the master.

Italian Artists of 18th-19th Centuries
In Mramorny Palace there was opened the exhibition prepared within the
frameworks of the fourth festival "Italy on Italian Street". The exhibition
presents paintings and graphical works by the Italians who worked in Russia
in the 18th - first half of the 19th centuries. In the 19th century many of
those Italian artists decided to stay in Russia and adopt Russian names.
Among them - Fyodor (Fedele) Bruni, Mikhail (Michele///) Scotti, Ludvig
(Luigi) Premazzi. All the demonstrated works are taken from the collection
of Russian Museum.

Art Glass on Elagin Island
In the Exhibition Hall of Konyushenny Building of Elagin-Island Palace and
Museum there was opened exhibition "Glass Factories of Russia. Pervomaisky
Glass Factory. Exhibition of Works". This exhibition is the first one of the
cycle of exhibitions of works by Russian factories of art glass on Elagin
Island. Glass exhibitions traditionally take place in Elagin-Island Palace
and Museum.

Amazing Anatomy for Men of Nerve
Saint Petersburg Museum of Wax Figures represents the exhibition "The
Theatre of Soul and Body or Amazing Anatomy for Men of Nerve". This
exhibition is the first, test Saint Petersburg Museum of Wax Figures project
dedicated to the human ecology. On display there are samples of human organs
which suffered from the way of human life - narcotism, alcoholism, smoking,
etc.

Rostov in Old Postcards
In Museum of Private Collections there is the exhibition "Rostov! Rostov?
Rostov:" (Rostov in old postcards) dedicated to 140-year birthday of Rostov
and to International Museum Day. The basis of the exhibition is composed of
postcards from V.A.Kim's collection, from the collection of Museum and
Reserve "Rostov Kremlin", from private collections. In the windows there are
general sights of the Kremlin, Uspensky Cathedral and of the central part of
the town; instead of traditional small notes they are accompanied by
quotations made by different travelers when they were visiting Rostov.
