Contemporary Artists - to Pushkin
State Pushkin Museum is glad to represent the exhibition "Contemporary
Artists - to Pushkin" withing the frameworks of the IV Pushkin Assembly. The
aim of the exhibition is to show how 21th century artists understanding of
Pushkin, to estimate the level of contemporary art. For this task there were
determined chronological frames - these are the latest works not known to
wide circle of audience. On display there are works by only professional
artists. More than 100 masters take part in the exhibition, they presented
about 300 works.

Classic of Native Photography - B.Ignatovich
Museum of Private Collections represents the exhibition "Boris Ignatovich -
Classic of Native Photography. 1920-1960s." Boris Vsevolodovich Ignatov
(1899 -1976) is one of the pioneers of photojournalism of the 1920s, he is a
master of "left-wing" experimental photography. Author's prints by
Ignatovich are preserved in private and in museum collections including
State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. There value is approved by time, it
became like the value of works by other greate Russian photomasters of the
20th century.

Music in Russian Art of the 19-20th Centuries
State Tretyakov Gallery invites you to visit the exhibition "Sound and
Image. Music in Russian Art of the 19-20th Centuries". The opening of the
exhibition is dated for the XII International Contest named after
P.I.Chaikovsky. This is the first time when music and its reflection in the
Russian art during ten centuries became the theme of large-scaled exhibition
in State Tretyakov Gallery. More than 20 Russian museums take part in the
project. The idea of the exhibition is to show musical basis of creative way
of thinking of artists, melodiousness as aesthetic criterion of harmonic
(and later disharmonic) origin in the art, to show direct influence of music
on artistic creative work.

Neomodern by Mikhail Vorobiev
All-Russian Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts personal carries out the
exhibition of works by a Moscow artist and designer "Neomodern by Mikhail
Vorobiev". The artist's style developed in the beginning of the 80s, is
still charming the audience by its unexpected experiments, and his last
exhibition confirms this. "Neomodern" - is new art on the border of
centuries, new style which continues traditions of the modern. This romantic
parallel of cultures runs through the artist's creation works on the whole
way of his development.

Exhibition of Collections from the Netherlands
This is joint project of cultural cooperation of Russian and Dutch museums
on mutual exhibition exchange. While in Irininsky Palaty of Novodevichy
Monastery there is an exhibition from the Netherlands, the exhibition "Enoch
Queens of Novodevichy Monastery" is being carried out in the Museum of Saint
Catherine Monastery. About 100 masterpieces of the medieval European art are
on display in Moscow. These items let one get acquainted with different
aspects of the development of books printing in the Netherlands during the
latest medieval epoch.

Plaster, Fountains, Bars and Puddles
In Moscow State Exhibition Hall "New Manege" there is the exhibition of new
works by Vladimir Brainin "Painting of 1995-2002. Plaster, Fountains, Bars
and Puddles". The artist in his work is still looking for and showing the
image of Moscow, and artistic circles of the Russian capital still consider
Brainin as one of the most adequate artists of Moscow. However, there are
only few well known Moscow motives.

Finished Photocontest "French Petersburg"
We are glad to invite you to Petropavlovskaya Fortress to the exhibition
representing works by the participants of the photocontest "French
Petersburg". This exhibition is the second one from the cycle "Foreigners in
Petersburg". It is dedicated to the French cultural heritage in Saint
Petersburg.

From Tooth-Brush to Architectural Model
Mramorny Palace invites you to the exhibition of works by Philippe Starck
"Vanity Case". Philippe Starck is widely known as a French designer and
architect. He was born in 1949. According to his project there was created a
street in Paris, the street was called by the name of the architect - "Rue
Starck". The exposition "Vanity Case" was created in 1997 and was
represented for the first time in Barcelona. The exhibition will demonstrate
80 works - from tooth-brush to architectural models. Every object is placed
in a small case and is provided with the author's comments.

In Memory of Outstanding Artist Timur Novikov
In Benoit Building there is the exhibition carried out in commemoration of
outstanding artist and artistic leader Timur Petrovich Novikov. On display
there are works made by the master and also granted to Russian Museum.
Russian Museum has always been closely connected with Timur Novikov. Being a
pupil he visited lessons in the Club of Young Fine Art Lovers in the Museum.
Later he worked as an operator of thermal center of the Museum, and this
helped him to get acquainted with its funds. As an acknowledged underground
master he began to exhibit one of the first.

Folk Craft of Novgorodsky Region
In Great Novgorod in the Novgorod Kremlin after the restoration there is the
exhibition of more than 110 works made by krestetsky and valdaisky women of
different generation of the 20th century. The earliest works are generally
towels. You will be able to see the evolution of the leading folk craft of
Novgorodsky Region.

On the Verge of the Ancient Universe
Karelian State Museum of Regional Studies is proud to present the exhibition
"Flying Stones" which is a concomitant of the popular project "On the Verge
of the Ancient Universe ". The exhibition is held within the frameworks of
the development of the project of the theme of primitive spiritual culture.
The base of the exhibition is a legend told by Kolsky Peninsula aborigens
and put down by ethnographer Charnolusky in the 20s of the 20th century. On
display there are etchings and water-colour works.
