September 8 to November 16.This continuation of exhibitions from the series, "Techniques of Engraving," reflects the richest collections of the Engraving Cabinet of the Pushkin Museum. It presents a unique opportunity to trace the development of the art of engraving and etching through five centuries. Works displayed include those of the great masters Callot, Rembrandt, Piranesi, Tiepolo, and Goya, who defined the turning points in the development of etching. Many other artists, who vividly represent techniques and trends of etching throughout centuries and national schools, also have prints on display. The exhibit includes a total of 346 works by 158 artists. The Russian engravers I. Shishkin, L. Pasternak, and V. Serov among others are displayed alongside the works of the European masters in the halls dedicated to the artwork of the 18th to early 20th centuries.
